• History of the Anizzah

  The history of the Anizzah is said to have began some 3000 years ago; following the birth of the first children of Vezhof. Though these claimed origins are very much debated, as the said occurrence began far before recorded history.
  
  The desert sands are inhospitable at best, and deadly at their worst, Yet the Anizzah have not only survived; but thrived. The adaptive traits of hardiness have allowed the clans of nomadic Anizzah to become pivotal in the success of the silkroad trades throughout the Middle East. However, the increased wealth of 'hedonistic' Anizzari people caused jealousy among many westerners, and resulted in a massacre of many tribes in the mid 1400's.
  
  The destruction of many nomadic clans is believed to have been the turning point for the cessation of the Silk Roads as a viable trading route. As the lack of Anizzari willing to traverse the deserts, and the increase in the availability of ships caused the Silk Roads to become outdated. With these factors pressing in on the tribes, nomadic lifestyles became impossible to cater to, and the Anizzah formed the now-great city of Mahfouz.
  
  Population surveys within Anizzari had always been difficult due to the sparsity of encampments, and their nomadic nature. Yet surprisingly, the creation of Mahfouz did not ease the difficulty of these surveys. The great city is heavily guarded, and outsiders are carefully watched to ensure they are not where they should not be. It is believed that this secrecy is what allows the city to survive the many failed sieges against it.
  
  Non-Anizzari vendors are heavily scrutinized, and will often be watched by the guards stationed by the bazaars. While acts of terrorism against the city of Mahfouz have only occurred a handful of times, the perpetrators did not make it outside of the city limits before they faced the wrath of the people. Despite the threat of acts of terrorism, trade in and out of the city is a great source of wealth, and a desirable prospect indeed. Fighting for spots within the Bazaars of Mahfouz is not uncommon, and deaths have been reported to occur.
  
  These fights are not limited to the inside of the city. Often Anizzari guards will defend against raiders or neighboring cities that attempt to take over Anizzari lands. These territories are fiercely defended, and the borders of Anizzari land are constantly expanding. The capture of adjacent clans results in the slaughter of men, and the capture of women and children. The captives are inspected by the clerical organizations, and those that fit the standards live as free women, and children will go to adoptive families to live out their life. Those who do not fit the standards needed to be considered Anizzari are enslaved. Often, the enslaved serve the captors who educated them.

• Anizzari Houses of Note

  Histories between houses can stretch back decades, or even centuries. While the clerical organizations document the lineages of all Anizzari, and the houses they belong to; obtaining the information is near impossible. Secrets belonging to the nobility and houses of the Anizzari are likely to remain hidden for millennia, for even the most talented military operations have fallen at the gates of Mahfouz, and very few know exactly why.
  

  Nobility AMIRMOEZ The royal family of Mahfouz. Members of this house are revered in the highest ways possible. They're typically 1-2 ft taller than other Anizzah, likely due to a Gigantism trait. Amirmoez are also paler in complexion, and usually possess blue eyes as a result of a double cremello dilution. The Amirmoez are very striking, and their appearance is often imitated by other Anizzari. BADIEH The clerical family of Mahfouz. The Badieh reside in the same palace as the Amirmoez, and are treated with the same respect as the royalty. Badieh are in charge of inspecting new bloodlines, and managing the war efforts. The clerics within this house are responsible for not only managing the battles that take place, but also organizing rules and laws that are applied daily. NAVAI The bodyguards of Mahfouz. This house offers protection to the Amirmoez and Badieh; and often take the duty of serving as judges and executioners. The Navai are also in charge of maintaining order within the houses, and settling quarrels between families. As a symbol of their dedication to both Vezhof, and the royal families, they are often tattood along their hands and fingers. These tattoos are said to be reminders of the Navai's position, and as a deterrent for under-the-table deeds.

  Trade Based Houses NAZEEM The Nazeem are often regarded highly for their healing abilities. The members and slaves of this house offer skilled services in the prevention of disease, and their ability to clean and suture even the most severe of wounds. As a result, they are often invaluable in the territorial skirmishes that occur outside of the city of Mahfouz. NOAWI The Noawi have long been recognized by their talent in cooking, preparing, and serving food. Slaves trained by this house often show prowess in the kitchen, and are frequently exported out towards western countries for their exotic cooking styles. Qahwa is a stimulant beverage that is considered best prepared by Noawi slaves, who add a variety of herbs and spices to the brew to strengthen the effects. AVKI'R Avki'r trained slaves are renown for their sexual prowess. The slaves trained by this house offer companionship in many forms, and are considered highly exotic and beautiful. Avki'r slaves are maintained on a strict exercise program. These pleasure slaves are prized attractions to harem pens, and make invaluable additions to houses of ill-repute all over the civilized world.
